Well, theres three schools of thought here, the first of which I am a member of. (Dates assume you observe Christmas Western Christian….Eastern Orthodox is a couple weeks later).
1. New Years Day (give or take). This allows you and your neighbors to enjoy the decorations an extra week, and allows your to symbolically put away the old year with the decorations.
2. Jan 5. This allows you to celebrate the 12 days of Christmas equally.
3. July 4. Hey, 7.2 million lazy hillbillies can’t be wrong.
